Not sure how BTC Sunday works?

We've got answers for you!

1- Can my child serve with or without me?

Be the Church is for the whole family! Any children 15 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. (Childcare is available for kids ages birth-3 years. See question #7 for more details on childcare for BTC Sunday.)

2- What do I need to wear to serve on this day?

Wear comfortable clothes, closed toed shoes and wear your Be the Church t-shirt, if you purchased one. Look at the weather and dress accordingly. Depending on the job you signed up for, you could be outside and inside.

*In addition see COVID-19 requirements below

3- Do I need to bring any special equipment or tools with me to serve?

No. The only thing you may want to bring is a pair of gloves.

4- Do we meet at the church first or go straight to our serving location?

We will meet at the church at 10:30AM on Sunday, November 1st, and as a church we will enjoy a time of worship before we receive direction for the day and head out to the individual job sites.

Important Note: IF you do not feel comfortable coming into the building first, you are welcome to head straight to the serving location where you signed up to serve. Please be there by 11AM. See locations below.

5- If it’s my first time visiting Lifeway and I want to go serve but didn’t sign up, can I jump in and help?

Absolutely! We are committed to helping you know God, be the church, and lead the change, and what better way to do that than to serve! Show up in comfortable clothes and we will make sure you get plugged in somewhere to serve. We’ve even had first time visitors run home, change clothes, and meet us at a particular job site, and they had a blast!

6- How long do we serve?

Each job location is slightly different. We set a guideline of no more than 3 hours. Most jobs take about an hour and a half but could take longer. It really depends on the workload and the number of people that are at that serving location. Most people have so much fun serving together, that the time flies!

7- Is there any sort of childcare for my kids on the day of Be the Church Sunday?

We offer childcare for infants – 3 years old during the time you are serving. We will provide a snack and pizza for the older ones while they are in our care. If you want them to have something specific or different, please be sure to pack it for them. For infants, please be sure to provide enough milk or formula for that time period.

If your kids are going to be in our care, it is REQUIRED you register them prior to Be the Church Sunday. To register your child Click Here.

8- When we finish serving, are we free to leave or do we go back to the church?

You are free to leave whenever you need to. Each site will have a team leader that will let everyone know when the work is complete, and you can head home straight from there, unless you left your kids at the church.

9- Are there special requirements due to COVID-19?

YES! Grace Bridge is requiring that all people bring/wear face coverings and practice social distancing while volunteering. They are working hard to provide a safe opportunity for you and your family to serve. Be sure to review the CDC guidelines and protocol questions below, before you show up to serve the day of Be the Church Sunday.

CDC Guidelines and COVID-19 Restrictions:

If your answer to any of the below questions is yes for you or any member of your household, please cancel your volunteer time. Thank you!
